Aerostar, one of the nation’s fastest-growing privately held flight simulation pilot training programs has forged a career placement agreement with Avionica. Avionica is one of the region’s leading avionic schools. In a unique collaborative effort, the two organizations identified an overlap where resources could meet demand. Aerostar needs highly skilled simulator technicians who possess a foundation in electronics and avionics, which are just the type of skills Avionica graduates bring to the table. To initiate this collaboration, AeroStar hired two Avionica graduates as paid simulator technician apprentices. Over the course of the next twelve months, these two apprentices will build upon the education they received at Avionica to learn all additional disciplines required to be full-fledged simulator technicians. This includes maintaining, repairing, and in some cases upgrading simulator systems, advanced state-of-the-art visuals systems, and all the other hardware and software subsystems that provide a life-like flight experience to their pilot trainees. Avionica graduates will be the team from which AeroStar hopes to fulfill all their future simulator technician needs building upon the advantages and synergies within the Kissimmee Gateway Airport tenant community!
