You may have heard a new voice on the ground frequency at ISM and that voice belongs to our new Operations Coordinator, John Behrendt. John is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with experience in a variety of roles at different airports from different regions. He was the Airfield Maintenance Supervisor at San Antonio International Airport in Texas where he oversaw the daily maintenance functions and lead a team of 15 maintenance personnel. He utilized his maintenance experience in a dual capacity along with Airport Operations responsibilities at the Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport to maintain FAA and TSA safety and security compliance standards. Snow removal operations was not in his long-term goals, but instead chose to bring his experience to Lakeland Linder International Airport working as an Operations Specialist. John holds an Airport Certified Employee Certification in Airfield Operations and is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He has a Private Pilot License and is a Part 107 Operator that combined with his experience and certifications provides great qualities to the Airport Operations Team at ISM.
