In April, Leadership Osceola candidates visited Kissimmee Gateway Airport for an in-depth look at aviation as part of their training. Candidates were given a tour of the airport and learned more about the significant economic impact the airport makes on the regional economy. Founded in 1989 at the Osceola Chamber, Leadership Osceola was created to ensure our community had a foundation of knowledgeable, engaged, civic-minded individuals prepared to lead Osceola. The program has been creating a more leader-full community for more than 30 years and has opened the door to public and civic service for hundreds of individuals across our society.

Candidates are identified by local businesses, community stakeholders, and Leadership Osceola alumni for program consideration. The application process commences in the fall and includes the submission of an application and candidate interview conducted by a selection committee comprised of Leadership Osceola alumni. The class is seated in January and kicks off with a two-day retreat in early February. The class size is purposefully kept small (30-35 individuals) to facilitate class connectedness and camaraderie.

Upon graduation, participants are encouraged to engage in public betterment, government advisory, and/or civic service opportunities that make a community impact. Leadership Osceola is an incredible orientation to a myriad of key community issues and exposure to Osceola’s movers and shakers. This program is excellent for long-time residents or newcomers to the community.

It’s amazing to see how her passion for nature and sustainability shines through in her work. Much like how Sierra thoughtfully curates her garden space, when preparing for graphic design interview questions, it's crucial to focus on creating designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Just as a well-curated garden combines form and function, successful graphic design needs to balance creativity with clear communication. The way Sierra blends beauty and purpose in her work is something that can be applied in both nature and design.

It's inspiring to see how the Kissimmee Gateway Airport supports local leadership programs, fostering growth and collaboration in the community. This emphasis on leadership and connection resonates with what I’ve experienced during a Yurt Retreat at the Celestial Center. Just as the airport serves as a hub for ideas and progress, the retreat provides a tranquil space to reset, reflect, and recharge, which can be essential for any leader. Spending time surrounded by peaceful mountain views encourages clarity and fresh perspectives, making it the perfect complement to any leadership journey. Both spaces inspire growth in their own unique ways.
