Long Time Air Traffic Control Tower Manager Wiley Glenn Huckeba Retires After More Than 22 Years

On April 28, our Airport Traffic Control Manager Wiley Glenn Huckeba, a.k.a "Huck", officially retired after more than 22 years at Kissimmee Gateway Airport. Huck started working at ISM on August 13, 2001. He signed off at approximately 11:00 a.m. on April 28, 2022, with his last transmission to his friend Lee Lauderback's “Mustang 1” at Kissimmee’s Stallion 51 Flight Operations. Huck turned over his headset to the new ATC manager Chris Mathis.

On April 29, the Kissimmee Airport family came together to host a festive retirement party for Huck at Stallion 51 Flight Operations. We thank Huck for his more than two decades of service at ISM. And a huge thank you to all of the sponsors who made his retirement party possible. We couldn’t have done it without your support!
