Kissimmee Airport Launches Economic Development and Tourism Campaign for National Aviation Week

KISSIMMEE, FL (August 19, 2022) – Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) today announced a new marketing campaign in honor of National Aviation Week, which is observed annually from August 19-25. The campaign was designed to promote the airport and the City of Kissimmee as a top year-round travel and tourism destination and a great place to locate a business in Florida. The campaign incorporates the airport's International Air Transport Association (IATA) three-letter airport code “ISM” and highlights words that embody our values like “professional-ISM,” “tour-ISM,” and many others.

“We are absolutely thrilled to launch this new campaign,” said Airport Director Shaun Germolus. “Our city and airport continue to grow. With this campaign, we’re able to highlight what makes our city and our airport an ideal location for business and leisure.”

Florida has 130 public-use airports, more than 100 of which are categorized as General Aviation airports. General Aviation applies to airports with limited or no scheduled commercial airline service. General Aviation airports serve various aviation activities, including recreational flying, aircraft manufacturing, flight training, corporate, charter, and fractional aircraft operations. ISM has historically been one of the top 10 busiest airports in Florida, based on the number of flight operations. ISM works in partnership with Experience Kissimmee, the city’s official tourism agency, to create opportunities to promote Kissimmee.

“This new marketing campaign is a great addition to the work that Experience Kissimmee does to showcase what makes our area so special for both tourists and businesses,” said D.T. Minich, Experience Kissimmee’s President, and CEO. “Our airport is also a major driver of the local economy, and we are excited to partner with Shaun and his team to promote Kissimmee.”

The new “ISM” campaign incorporates social media, advertising, digital, and grassroots outreach to engage business jet travelers and tourists and raise awareness about Kissimmee’s activities and amenities. To learn more about the campaign, visit www.FlyKissimmee.com.
